A new way to spam?

Huh. Apparently someone who knows me "well" has left a report on me at something called Word-of-Mouth.org. Looking at the site (which is difficult because it's so god-awful ugly), all I can figure is that to get the report I have to give them money. Seems useless, or a good way go harvest email addresses. Anyone with more web-savvy than I see anything dangerous?

I got that as well! I just got an email saying my address was listed. I wonder if it is someone on our mutual friends list or something.

The thing that pisses me off is that if someone wants to register, pay their 20 bucks, that they contact the person who set up the report about you and they tell people all about you. Kinda sick if you ask me.

Nah, I went and looked myself up based on your post about it, and lo and behold, there is a report on me. Supposedly.

I don't think it's awful, or slanderous, but I think it sucks that they are charging people to talk. If they want to truly be a "clearinghouse" or whatever they're calling themselves on their poorly designed site, then you shouldn't have to pay.

I went to that link on myself as well and all it said was someone anonymous knew me socially and had information on me and that to actually contact him you had to register.

Don't pay, there is no report. first of all, if this place had a report about you, wouldn't it have an option for you to report people yourself?
