Sorry, for some reason this has just hit me as a very sad thing. On the boards at Johnny Cash.com, Kathy (their daughter?) is doing some posting and reading, and Johnny has invited everyone to the funeral.

Johnny has asked that we extend his invitation to June's friends and fans to attend her funeral to be held at the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, Tn., this Sunday at 2:00 PM.

That's really sweet.

we [metaphorge and i] drove past the House of Cash on our way into Nashville earlier today; the flag was at half-staff and there was a wreath on the door. i nearly cried.

puts a whole new layer of poignancy on Johnny's "Hurt" video, doesn't it? sick as he's been, we'd thought he'd be the first to go...

I'd've cried too. And that video was painful to begin with, now it's just heartbreaking. I associate Johnny Cash with my dad, and how he was when my mom died. I wish I had enough money to send flowers to the funeral Sunday; they asked for that, too.

I wish there was some way a bunch of us could chip in for flowers. I was thinking this morning about sending some, but the price of something that would be appropriate was a little too steep for me.
