May. 15th, 2003 01:25 pmWent and got Shannon & the Zinger on WIC yesterday so I can breathe a little easier $-wise now. OHP next, and Planned Parenthood so we don't have a repeat baby since she's stopped breastfeeding. Our boy is up to 9 lb 9 ounces, so I'm thinking we're doing something right.
Need to find a swing this weekend, if we can, so that he can sit up and look around more. He's pretty social and gets pissy right away if he's left in the crib and can't see what we're doing. A swing is nicely portable, too, so we can drag it outside while we're working in the yard (which we are most sunny days).
I wanted to have a garage sale this weekend, but we just haven't had time to do ANYTHING, it seems. Also, Brandy gets to have Saturday off and desperately wants us to go to the zoo with her (yes, crazy girl wants to go to WORK on her days off!) and it's free since we're her parents, so we said we'd go. We'll do the sale over memorial day weekend or part of it, and that will work just fine. It will be nice to have three days off work, but I'm not counting on actually resting :)
Oh! Brandy and CJ took Shannon to Ember's last night! There was some drama with Bryant about her going, but she can be a fairly strong willed young woman and he stayed home and pouted a bit while I watched the baby. She didn't get too overwhelmed, was thrilled that the dance side has Goth Night on Wednesdays, and got to meet a few people. Hmmm. Self-described "bi-curious" girl got to see a real gay bar. And wants to go back!
Ruby must be on her way because I am sooooo tired I could crawl under the desk and sleep if I had a blanket.
Tonight: cleaning eBay room, dragging down futon for sleeping space for guests for 5/31 party (everybody welcome!), pictures and auctions up....maybe dragging down stuff from the garage, finishing bookshelves, putting books on Half.com if I get adventurous.

Date: 2003-05-15 02:43 pm (UTC)Also, I went to Embers with some coworkers once. (The one and only time I socialized after-hours with coworkers at Stream.) It was a bit too loud for me.

Date: 2003-05-16 10:41 am (UTC)Embers can be REALLY loud on weekends but is kind of nice on weekdays; the shows are fun sometimes and it's easier to talk.

Date: 2003-05-15 07:34 pm (UTC)Okay...um...I hope this is preaching to the choir, but you know that breastfeeding has no contraceptive effect, right? A breastfeeding mother can get knocked up just as easily as someone who isn't lactating.
Anyway, just thought I should point that out.
