truth and nonsense
May. 3rd, 2003 12:13 amFirst, the paganism. I don't talk about religion or spirituality here because honestly it just is in my life, it's not something I think about often. I try to be the best person I can be, and to care for others as much as possible, to leave some little mark on the world, to change one life for the better, to make one person smile.
Sometimes that's hard, especially financially. CJ's AS precludes her from being able to work a "normal" job, so we do eBay and she does surveys online like a mad-woman to supplement what I make. Usually, it's enough, but suddenly we have 3 extra mouths to feed. And as always in the past, the Goddess has come through. Once, years ago when we had a house full of teenagers and no money, I found a $600 check in the glove box of my car that I could have sworn I cashed months previously. This time, Divine Providence arrived in the form of wonderful friends bringing extra food, CJ winning a $100 survey, and things like the booklet on eBay going up so high.
The moral, I guess, is that we're happy with what we have, and we try hard to give away what we can to make other people happy. And the more we give away, the more we seem to get in return. An old principle, but...still true.
Enough mush, onto the nonsense, stolen from bunches o'people.
1. Name one song you hate to admit you like.
Eminem - Slim Shady
2. Name two songs that always make you cry.
some country singer (female) - Daddy's Hands; The Flirtations - Everything's Possible
3. Name three songs that turn you on.
NIN - I can't find my copy of PHM, but it's the one that starts "I'm drunk, and right now I'm so in love with you..."; Sarah Maclachlan - Posession; Melissa Etheridge - Like The Way I Do.
4. Name four songs that always make you feel good.
Indigo Girls - Closer to Fine; Peter Gabriel - Salisbury Hill; Counting Crows - Rain Kings; Pat Benetar - All Fired Up
5. Name five songs you couldn't ever do without.
Aerosmith - Crazy; Louis Armstrong - It's a Wonderful World; NIN - Sin; BNL - If I Had a Million Dollars; Violent Femmes - Kiss Off
