So, around 8.30 or so, [livejournal.com profile] alphaskye, CJ and I thought we would go find a candlelight vigil. This is Portland, there have to be some protesters downtown somewhere. Three nights worth, according to local media. Surely they're still up?

Drove down to Pioneer Square. No candlelight vigil, just 3 pro-war people with flags, and some random Square Children. Hmmm....where else would protesters be? Ah, Terry Shrunk Plaza, bounded by City Hall on one side and Club Fed on the other. We scooted over and yes indeed, there they were. And they look set to stay the duration of the war - tents, drums, all the trappings. The city will let them stay, too, I'm sure, so long as they're peaceful.

What would they like? It's cold out....COFFEE! And donuts! We ran to Safeway and got donuts (and bagels, in case someone won't eat sugar), but Safeway has no carafes to hold coffee. So, off to Freddies for a carafe. Then to the Roxy for coffee to go in it (we had stopped there originally but they wouldn't sell us a carafe, only coffee).

When we got back to them, they were sooooo pleased! They had just been thinking about making a coffee run, and were very happy to see us! Tomorrow, perhaps I will take them a tray of enchiladas or mac&cheese.

But no myrrh.
