Feb. 9th, 2003 09:17 amIt was a pretty good week at work - I'm trying really hard to improve the attitude, since I have to be there for the time being. Boss is finally making noises about doing a formal review, after two years, perhaps a raise would be involved but I doubt it. I'm not even holding my breath about the review.
Yesterday we went to one of the zillions of home improvement/garden shows that crop up this time of year; signed up for a few estimates just to see what someone else thinks about how we want to do the yard and the tv room. It's odd how some parts of the house we just instantly agree on what to do and others taunt us with a thousand different ideas.
CJ & the kids also were kind enough to tag along while I went to Acorns and Threads so I could get a packet of double-pointed cross stitch needles. Of course, walking into a stitching store and ONLY getting needles is impossible. I also found a lovely overdyed multi-blue for S&K's kanji, and got the first row of colors for the New Orleans gate I'm making for CJ. We added it up, and I've given away almost all the completed projects I've done, so I'm determined to finish one that will stay here.
I read a book about 15 years ago,PS Your Cat is Dead , that I just loved. I re-read it a number of times but lost it in a move. I was thinking about it again this week, that it would be nice to re-read it....and what do you think jumped out of the bookshelf at me at Value Village? So, that has instantly entered my Reading pile.
And now, off to coffee, reading until CJ wakes up, then paper, perhaps sales or auctions, and working on the kitchen. A lovely day, I hope!
