Tried and tried to find a night-splint for my foot - they are supposed to help with plantar fascitis. I must have called every medical supply store in Portland - either they don't carry them, don't know what I'm talking about, or are snotty about it. One guy asked me why I thought that was what I needed! Well, because everything I've read about pf and every MD I've talked to says that it helps. Or, I'm making it up to torment you. You decide. They used to be available at pharmacies - plastic formed into an l-shape that holds your foot at a 90 degree angle! The few med supply places that had them charged $90+ for them. Umm, CJ found them online for $50-60 - I've waited this long, I can wait another 2-3 weeks for shipping.

Have you tried just wrapping your foot with an ace bandage at night? It's not perfect, but it's more comfortable than that will be (as, if I'm reading it correctly it's the same as what I wore when I broke my foot ages ago). My foot, just to be really annoying, cramps up when I bandage my foot after the first night or two so I end up having to yank the bandage off half awake. I've also been told about exercises to stretch it, but luckily I seem to have figured out how to walk to avoid hurting myself over the past two years, and other than the ambush a couple of weeks ago, have avoided messing up my plantar fascia since the first incident a couple of years ago.

It's actually feeling a lot better than it did last month - even walking (non-stop, hours and hours and hours) in New Orleans didn't do much damage.

My foot, just to be really annoying, cramps up when I bandage my foot after the first night or two so I end up having to yank the bandage off half awake.

This is why I don't use the ace-type support I have - halfway through the night, I have to rip it off 'cause it's too tight/causing cramps. I'm hoping the splint will work better and won't make me crazy.
