summer nights
Aug. 13th, 2004 08:54 amNight before last, CJ & I cuddled in the hammock and watched the Perseids. Amazing that in the middle of the city, we can still see them. From 9.30 to 11.30 we probably saw an average of one every 5 minutes or so, including a few good long earthgrazers. One of these years the 11th will be on a weekend and we will get away from the lights, but it was nice to watch from our own back yard.
Last night, we took the kid and the Zing to Clark County Fair. There, there was much petting of animals and eating of bad fair food! I found a booth that sold fried green tomatoes, which were wonderful, and CJ *shudder* CJ actually ate a deep fried Rocky Road candy bar. My god, the sugar that woman can eat!
The Zing loved petting all of the goats and sheep and cows, but he thought the ducks were hysterically funny and laughed and laughed at their quacking. He also appears to have added 'bunny' to his repetoire of words that only we can understand, to join 'gramma' and 'plane'.
I'm looking for daycare a few days a week for him; I had no freaking clue that daycare was so expensive. I mean, I knew it was expensive, but I didn't realize that I could expect to pay $400+/month for just two days a week.
