Mmm...desert!

Fourth picture down.
The red house to the left is where we lived while my dad was building my aunt and uncle's house. The cluster of buildings on the right, back further, is where they and my grandparents live now. My grandparents moved here in the mid-50s with 3 small boys, no electricity, still 30 miles from the nearest town. They came from LA, with all it's modern conveniences. I don't know how my grandmother managed without killing them all.
Stupid pictures, now I'm homesick, and it's branding this weekend. When I was little, branding weekend was a HUGE party - we had friends in from all over, my grandpa (maternal) got to show off his mad trick-roping skillz, my aunt always made some nasty drink with sloe gin and pink lemonade and 7-Up, there were tons of relatives and kids running around.
Wish I could just bail and go see them all.
