Just another night in Portland

CJ & I went up to Washington Park to hear the free tunes - last night's offering, Musical Theatre. I was hoping for showtunes, but it was more operetta. We packed a picnic dinner and stuck around though, then went for a walk through the roses (10+ years of Peacock and I'd never explored the gardens!). As we neared the end, we heard music...accordians and bells?? Rounded the corner, and...Morris Dancers!! Two very good dancers, one passable and one clearly just learning. When the set was over, they explained the dance and the Holiday to their little audience, even admitting they were a day late, which made me grin like an idiot. We hung out and watched a couple more sets, and when we left I gave a little curtsy to the lead, who gave me a little bow in return.
