Pride Storms
Jun. 20th, 2005 05:00 pmPride was fun, but sadly I didn't get many great pictures. I used to take 100s every year, but it's certainly tapered off! This one turned out well though:
We went with
rensarockstar, and
alphaskye and Kelly, and
turtle_grrl and Linnea. I'm sure that we just missed
saladbats! I got a good picture of Beej & Linnea but I will send it to them before I post it! I still miss doing Pride, but as I told people who said (as they do every year) "I wish you were still in charge," I would only do it now if I could be President for Life, and do it MY WAY. No fence. Smaller stage, with two stages, one for fun and one for politics (with some mingling). Both parks, at least two nights. I refuse to give them money until they drop that fence. I may have volunteered to be on the board for the Community Center, though. *grin*
Afterward, we came home and made sundaes from hell, since it was still hot and sticky and wonderful out. Zing even had about 4 ounces of rootbeer float. This is his normal squealy self!
Tim came over to give us storm warnings all night, and finally around 8ish it rolled up. It was so very beautiful - the sky was green and orange and yellow, with double rainbows and lightning and everything. Only this picture does any kind of justice:
It was absolutely beautiful. Once the lightning had stopped we sat in the living room and chatted and listened to the rain - and after 45 minutes of no storm, around 10 pm, we got a bolt of lightning pretty much right overhead! That was a surprise, we almost peed ourselves!! Didn't wake the baby at all, though. Good boy!
