This is SO on my list of movies for the fall...Rent. I didn't get to see it when it was in Pdx, and Broadway is not exactly close. This year's Broadway on Portland series isn't all that inspiring.

hell, i lived in nyc, and i didn't get to see it. guess i'll have to go with the movie, as well. the good news is that, apparently, most of the cast in the movie is the original bway cast.

the broadway series is a bit dull, but the opera season is kickass!

Is it? I'll have to check it out. I was interested in maybe going down to Eugene to see 42nd Street, but that's the only one that caught my eye.

I <3 Rent. I saw the original cast & production in NYC back in the late 90s and saw a traveling production in Vegas a few years ago. (The traveling production wasn't that great.) I'm looking forward to the movie too. As mentioned above, most of the original cast will be in the film. Unfortunately though, not the original Joanne, a black lesbian character. The woman who played her had an *amazing* voice.

OMG yes, I figured you and Kell would want to join us. I wish I'd seen it when it was here!

It was really good, but I think that it will be really cool to see how they set it up with actually scenery as a backdrop. I am glad they kept most of the original cast.

The trailer is great, at least. I am considering going to ONE show while we're back east...I can't be that close to Broadway and not try. Spamalot is sold out in October but there are still tickets for Wicked and Avenue Q and The Musical of Musicals - The Musical.
