Jun. 3rd, 2005 03:54 pmNothing terribly exciting going on. Work progresses well, home is getting closer to painted. God, how could there possibly be so much variance on painting estimates for the same work?? Honestly, we've had everything from $1300 to nearly $8000, it's insane. The yard and garden look great, though, so I want the house to look good too. Then the only thing will be to gather bricks so we can put up our New Orleans fence and get rid of the horrid chain link. Hates it.
Killing time until fireworks tonight, yay!! The first year Zing was not much interested, being only a few months old; last year I think it was raining too much to bring him but he wasn't terribly excited by the ones on the 4th - mostly because it was past his bedtime. Tonight I'm planning to let him go to sleep, but to wake him up just as we head out. He really dug the fireworks and cannons at the 1812 last fall...I hope hope he isn't scared of them now! Then tomorrow night is Starlight; we'll take the train downtown for that one. I love this part of Rose Festival - the rest I can take or leave.

Date: 2005-06-08 02:56 pm (UTC)We are going with a mid-range price, it will probably end up being around $3500 - $4000 but I think that's reasonable for a 1.5 story house and a garage, and the prep/construction to get it ready to paint.
