While I'm on interminable hold with Dish Network morons....

6/7. Light a Single Candle and Gift of Gold, Beverly Butler, p. 217 & p. 260.

I read Light a Single Candle as a kid, lots of times, but hadn't had a copy in years. I didn't even know there was a sequel until CJ got them for me; tired of my poking in the used books at Powells she ordered them from Amazon. Sweet bear! Dated, certainly, but still good.

Oh, I loved Light a Single Candle when I was a teen. I discovered the sequel when I was doing my student teaching, I think. Didn't like it quite as much, but it wasn't bad. :)

I had a horrible fear of losing my sight completely when I was younger. Much younger.

I tried to teach myself braille after I read this; I had a big fascination with disabilities and girls who had to overcome great odds.

OH! I remember that book! I didn't know there was a sequel either. Thank you! :)

The sequel isn't quite as good, but I'm glad I read it.
