Random Thursday
May. 19th, 2005 02:27 pmMust be May - Valley Falls is starting to look green. It'll only last about a month before it gets too hot/dry, so I'll have to enjoy the pictures while I can. When dad was a kid - hell, when I was a kid - the snow could be 4' deep at this intersection in the winter. It may rain like crazy here on the west side, but the east side is still looking at a drought.
Dr. O is going off to ride his bike cross-country (Seattle to Boston) this summer, so CJ & I got a bunch of dental work done today - two crowns for her, and 4 fillings and a quad of root-planing for me. Ouchie in my mouth this afternoon, but I won't have to worry about it later.
Someone just got coffee, I can smell it.
The second step in applying for the Event Specialist position happened today just as I got back from the dentist - interviewing with the recruiter. It will probably be at least another week or two before it even gets to the Dr. C stage. It would be fun doing something I love, and even if I don't get it I do enjoy Symposium too.
We are starting to get bids for painting the outside of the house - the money we were going to spend on the bathroom should go outside this year since the wood is showing in spots. Plus, we have done so much yardwork and we're so close to what we wanted the yard to look like - it feels bad not to have the house match! We're thinking of a light terracotta color, with blue blue blue trim - something to offset the never-ending grey of northwest winter/spring/fall.
CJ gave her letter to Shannon last week and lo and behold, nothing happened except that Shannon has gotten somewhat easier to live with. Yay!
Zing says "have a good day" now. In an Australian fasion, but it's recognizable...I think.
Must track down that coffee.
