The annoying: When you tell someone their lab work will be done at the end of the day, don't tell them you can't find any lab work when they give you an extra 12+ hours before calling for their results. 'kthx!

The really good: I sold my cross stitched kittens on eBay last week, and shipped 'em on Saturday. I got a feedback, and then an email, from the buyer: "It is stunning.....
I have lost the depth perception in my left eye, so I can't do this anymore. However I was never as good as you are. I see kits all the time I wish I could do, but I can't. So keep up the good work, you have a great talent."

Wow.

I never thought it was all that amazing, it's so wonderful to hear from someone who isn't my family that my work is...good. Stunning even.

Now, to figure out how to make some money doing it!!

Oh, wow! That's so cool; I've never had a buyer send extra email before -- and so nice!

It was quite the ego stroke, although not entirely unsolicited ~ I broke the eBay rules and wrote her directly, when she posted feedback saying it was stunning, and told her I was available for commissioned work.

I enjoy it, and my fingers have been itching to do some more. I think I'll start with a bunch of yule ornaments and put them up.

I have a couple of kits that I keep pulling out and staring at. I know the work would be good for my finger joints, but it'll hurt a hell of a lot at first. :-/

That's awesome. I was quite impressed by the photo with that auction!

I have a moratorium on cross-stitch until I finish my sister's increasingly evil wedding piece (Lavender & Lace's The Wedding), get the piece I did for Laurel's birth framed, and make a permanent space for my crafting stuff so it's not stashed in parts of three rooms.

Is that the one with the 400 beads? I remember that from last summer. If we weren't half a country away I'd be glad to help!

And I have my cross-stitch and sewing things scattered around 3-4 rooms myself until Shannon and the baby move out, and the nursery converts back to my sunroom.
