A Wedding Story

This is the sign that greeted us on Monday when we got our license. The bible people screaming were much less amusing, except for the guy who was going to pop a vein, but I didn't get a picture of him.
As of approximately 6 pm this evening, CJ & I are
legally spouses. It was a comedy of errors, actually; first the place we were going to do it stopped holding weddings at 4, and all of our friends get off work at 5. So I called around and found a minister to meet us at Mt. Tabor (the only volcano within the limits of a city, and the place we first kissed) at 5.30, only a few hours notice. Skye and Kelly were first there, and discovered that Mt. Tabor closes on Wednesdays to auto traffic, so we had to walk in...and this is a volcano, so the going was steep. Steeper than it needed to be if we had just followed the road! Skye and Kelly, Brandy & Bekah, Shannon, Aaron, Erin & Kelly, I'm sorry I tried to kill you all and we're so very glad you were there!
The ceremony, what I remember of it other than crying and being very happy, was lovely ~ the minister reverend lady talked to us beforehand and got a good idea of our comfort level with spiritual things so there was no eepy moment.
When we got home, the boys across the street (who got married on Monday) had put balloons and a Just Married sign on our fence, and gave us a lovely basket full of fireworks, some of which we set off tonight. Then there was cake!
Yay!
