Return to the Secret Garden, Susan Moody, 426 pgs.

The cover says "For everyone who grew up loving Mary, Dickon, and Colin...". I'd complete that by saying "...don't read this!". Unless, of course, you'd like your rememberance to be tainted by war, classism, a smattering of homophobia, and tortured romantic hearts. Bah.

Tried, indeed, and (imo) failed miserably. CJ kept asking why I was continuing to read it when I started ranting after the first 50 pages; I had to find out how bad it got.

The original is one of my favorite books; this is Harlequin crap. Ugh!

Thanks for the warning. :) The Secret Garden was one of my favorite books as a kid. I tend to avoid sequels written by other people in general, but I'll be especially sure to avoid this one.
