Nov. 28th, 2003 09:22 amTime again for the traditional "Go home or not go home" holiday angst. It would be much easier if I lived across the country, I think. I need to just realize that my family is here and I can have a belated holiday with my dad & Lo; I'm still not entirely comfortable with her/her family ~ hell, it's only been 3 years since my mom died!
We had a nice Turkey with
alphaskye and
frisia69 (and the LJ-free Beeg and Linnea) last night, and I got to watch Pangs finally! I think that will be a new Thanksgiving tradition, because "You made a bear! Undo it!" never gets not funny.
Uncle Aaron was miffed about our not having Turkey on Thursday thing (CJ has the same feeling about the holiday as Willow's mother does, apparently), but we will be having a big holiday dinner w/family on Saturday so that Brandy and
andromeda6 can join us. Ham with praline glaze, cheesy potatoes, brussel sprouts, cauliflower, and a bunch of pies ~ Shannon wants to make pumpkin, I am making little sweet potato turnovers.
I've got my snowflake diamonds in my ears and CJ wore her Grinch jammies yesterday morning, so the holiday season has officially begun, and although I have reservations as always, I intend to enjoy the hell out of it. There's a sparkly train in the front yard, and the penguin still lights, and by golly even most of my shopping is done!
And, Criticall testing is Monday! Eeep!
